  If it is determined that there is an imminent threat (either natural or manmade) to the citizens of Green Valley, you will be notified by one or more of the following:
  1. Sheriff's Office or Deputy
  2. Fire Department
  3. Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteer
  4. Neighborhood Watch Chairpersons or Block Captain
  5. KSVY 1080 Radio-Green Valley
  Follow their instructions:  If you are told to evacuate, Do So Promptly.  If you are instructed to go to a certain location -

Go There!  Don't Go Anywhere Else!  If there is time, take a brief moment to accomplish a few things:

 
  1. Turn off all gas, electrical appliances and air conditioner.
  2. Take prescription medicines with you.
  3. Take eye glasses with you.
  4. Take identification with you.
  5. Take important papers and cash.
  6. Have a battery operated radio available.
  7. Take special dietary needs.
  8. Take baby food if applicable.
  9. Lock up your residence or business.
  10. Dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier.
  11. Follow all official instructions and directions.
  12. Avoid using your telephone during an emergency.
  Remember:  In an emergency situation
  • Assess the facts
  • Keep your head
  • Think of others
  • Act calmly and directly

Prior planning can prevent an emergency from becoming a catastrophe.
