Work has started on the Anza Trail from Elephant Head Road,
through Canoa Ranch to the Abrego trail head. The contractor has 100 working
days to complete the project, which has a scheduled completion date of June
2007.
The trail will intersect with the Southeast corner of The
Springs. This is at the Dog Walking area on the Walking Trail, next to the
golf course. For folks who walk the trail, work can be seen at the
intersection. A 65 foot walking bridge will be built across the wash at this
point. The trail will then turn East to the Santa Cruz River and continue
North to the Abrego trail head. An entrance walkway allowing access to the
trail will be provided for Springs residents. In future months the Board
will be working on “Rules of the Road” concerning access for bikes, etc.,
onto the Anza Trail from The Springs property.
