Sunday, July 24, 2005 - Trees
are burned along the side of the road to the area where the
Florida Fire took place in the Santa Rita mountains. The sheriff
had a road block just in front of the first parking lot to the
Madera Canyon Recreation area. These pictures were taken
at the area that the firemen did the back burn in the lower part
of the Madera Canyon. They burned out an area all along

25 - This set of pictures were taken about 1/2 mile before the

Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - These photos were taken today on the
Florida trail looking and leading up to the burnt trees on the
Florida peak. The last photo is Lee Huey in his Miata waiting
for the rushing water to stop. He and his wife were on a
joy ride when they were stopped by the moving water in a
low spot on Whitehouse Canyon Road. Ernie Cox |
