All Wood Beams Should Be Painted with “CEDAR BARK” (Oil Based).  This Is The Only Acceptable Product for Springs Wood Applications.  (Allows wood to “breathe”)

   Use the above product assuming the wood has not been painted with flat opaque non-oil based paint?

   If Cedar Bark has not been used, and a product not compatible with Cedar Bark has been applied-- resulting in blistering or pealing due to water saturating behind paint-- then the product must be removed, either by (1) chemical means-- must be careful does not drip on driveway, (2) heat torch, (3) sand blasting, or (4) wire brush.)
