·          All houses to be painted must provide a paint sample to the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) before painting if using other than Sherwin Williams or Frazee or Tucson Rubberized Coatings or Wal-Mart Formulas.

·          These five suppliers have the same color Hedgehog and the only color Hedgehog permissible going forward (Sep. 30, 2004)

·          Sherwin Williams is called “Real Hedgehog” and Frazee mix is called “New Hedgehog”.

DOORS/METAL GATES

Security doors and screen doors must be painted to match the color of the main entry door, black, rustic iron finish or the exterior of the house. Patio gates must be painted to match the exterior of the house or rustic iron finish or they may be wood. Other iron work (e.g. trellis) must be painted to match the exterior of the house ONLY.  Currently we have two suppliers for the paints listed below:

WOOD BEAMS/POLES

Currently we have one supplier for your wood beam(s) and pole(s). All Wood Beams Should Be STAINED with “CEDAR BARK” (Oil Based).  This Is The Only Acceptable Product for The Springs Wood Applications.  (Allows wood to “breathe”.)

Ask for: CEDAR BARK Semi-Transparent Oil-Based Stain Madera 3850404 CLEAR. Use the above product assuming the wood has not been painted with flat opaque non-oil based paint.

If Cedar Bark has not been used, and a product not compatible with Cedar Bark has been applied—resulting in blistering or pealing due to water saturating behind paint—then the product must be removed, either by (1) chemical means—must be careful does not drip on driveway, (2) heat torch, (3) sand blasting, or (4) wire brush.)
